If you suspect a scam, report it

  • Report to Action Fraud - If you suspect a scam you should report it to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 or at www.actionfraud.police.uk.
  • If you've agreed to transfer your pension and now suspect a scam, contact your pension provider straight away. They may be able to stop a transfer that hasn't taken place yet. If you are unsure of what to do contact The Pensions Advisory Service for help on 0800 011 3797.

The Financial Vulnerability Taskforce is a newly created independent representative body covering the Personal Finance Sector.  Its ultimate purpose is to promote greater UNDERSTANDING, encourage appropriate BEHAVIOURS and establish GOOD PRACTICE in respect of consumer vulnerability.

As a member of the ERC you can be confident that we abide by their principles and best practices to ensure the most suitable consumer outcomes at all times.  The ERC continues to lead and set high standards within the lifetime mortgage (equity release) marketplace.  The vision is that consumers can have confidence that equity release is safe, mainstream and an accessible solution to their needs in later life and retirement planning.

Awarded by The London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) who is a university-based organisation that exists to advance banking and finance through education, with the focus on lifelong learning.  This highlights that knowledge beyond the minimum levels required to practice within the financial services arena.  And shows that we are committed to providing the highest levels of advice and quality standards at all times.

This is issued by The Personal Finance Society and is awarded to firms who are approved after showing commitment to adopt the code and principles of good practice to safeguard individuals.  The goal is that consumers can better understand their options and find good advice, and be confident that they are dealing with a firm that is going beyond minimum requirements when giving financial advice.
